Our Operations

Driven to Maximise the every passing Day.

Asset Management

Technical, Finacial and Economic

Solar AM differs from traditional financial asset management in that you’re managing physical assets that have technical components. However, you’re effectively managing a power station.  Solar AM includes activities such as:

  • Performance Monitoring– Reporting of your system’s energy production.
  • Demand Side Monitoring– Real-time data of your energy consumption pattern.
  • Billing and Collections– Includes goods and services billing, processing collection activities, and financial aging.
  • Distributions to investors– Release of funds upon the investor’s request.
  • UCC Filings– Submittals and re-submittals of any liens.
  • Operations and Maintenance– Physically maintaining (“Boots on the ground”) work to ensure the system is performing properly.

Operations & Maintenace

O&M Contractor Management

Operation & Maintenance (O&M) service ensures that the PV system will maintain high levels of technical and consequently economic performance over its lifetime. High quality O&M services mitigates potential risks, improves the Levelised Cost of Electricity (LCOE), Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) prices and positively impacts Return on Investment (ROI).

Availability guarantees provided can be translated into Bonus Schemes and Liquidated Damages. These ensure that the Asset Owner is compensated for losses due to lower-than-guaranteed Availability and that Emesco is motivated to improve their service in order to achieve higher Availability.

Health, Safety & Enviroment

Safety is our frist Priority

Safety is a core value at Stanford and the University is committed to continued advancement of an institutional safety culture with strong programs of personal safety, accident and injury prevention, wellness promotion, and compliance with applicable environmental and health and safety laws and regulations.

Stanford University makes all reasonable efforts to:

  • Promote occupational and personal safety, health and wellness;
  • Protect the health and safety of Stanford University faculty, staff and students;
  • Provide information to faculty, staff, and students about health and safety hazards;
  • Identify and correct health and safety hazards and encourage faculty, staff, and students to report  potential hazards;
  • Conduct activities in a manner protective of the environment, and inform the Stanford community regarding environmental impacts associated with institutional operations; and
  • Maintain a risk-based emergency management program to reduce the impact of emergency events to the Stanford community.

Plant Performance & Analytics

Getting the most from our generator

All data recorded and displayed is checked for completeness. We also assess the quality of reports generated from the plant SCADA.

If it is determined a PV plant is under-performing, our engineers work with plant owners and operators to conduct component level root cause analysis and recommend appropriate fixes.

  • Improve performance over time, incorporate performance data, and analyze trends.
  • Increase plant productivity, reliability and availability.
  • Identify key areas of improvement in operational and maintenance practices.
  • Lower overall life-cycle costs.
  • minimising production losses;
  • significantly improving efficiency;
  • reducing lack of data transparency;
  • improving the levelised cost of energy (LCOE);
  • positively impacting the return on investment for solar asset owners and operators.

Our Core drivers to delivering Value

Dedicated to Excellence

The Centragrid team of dedicated asset managers and engineers utilises its unique blend of skills and experience to ensure the optimal operation, efficiency and longevity of the plant. They create a smooth and effective interface between the day to day oversight of the operation of the plant, contract management, stakeholder engagement and the suite of regulatory and financial reporting required for a plant of this nature.

Fine tuned to Perfection

Centragrid has contracted Centragrid Services (“CES”) as the operations and maintenance contractor for the plant. Responsible for the technical operation and maintenance of the plant, CES is manned by qualified personnel with experience in high voltage electrical plant operations and maintenance. This ensures the efficient, effective and compliant operation of the asset. CES has a contract with the original equipment manufacturers for major maintenance works.

Nurturing Relationships

Two key relations that Centragrid has are with ZETDC and ZERA. ZETDC is the power buyer through a 25-year PPA. ZETDC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Zesa Holdings, the Zimbabwe national electricity utility. ZETDC is responsible for systems operations, owns transmission and distribution facilities and is the largest buyer of power in the country. ZERA the regulator for the Energy Sector in the country.
